I want to make my own proximity switch that beeps when one component is separated from another (like a burglar alarm that beeps when the door opens). Except I want it to be REALLY SMALL.

So I was thinking I would buy a reed switch, which works with a magnet. If I bought one, what else would I need to buy to make it power a small buzzer? a battery and wire? How do I know if the switch, battery, and buzzer are all compatible? Would radioshack have what I need?

Ok so we are moving next month into a house that we will be renting. Unfortunately, ADT & Brinks dont let renters use their services…which is ok because we dont plan to rent the house forever, so their products would probably be a waste of money anyway.

Ive been online FOREVER it feels like, looking for a home security system we can install ourselves. Ive heard wireless is the easiest way to go? We just dont want to have to pay a professional to come out and do it. I have NO idea how to find what Im looking for or what products actually do what we want them to do. So Im hoping that maybe somebody can steer me in the right direction if I describe what I hope to find…..

Like I said, wireless would be great. I want something not too difficult to use….we would like to be able to monitor all the windows and doors in the house (there isnt very many). And MOST OF ALL, I want something LOUD. Id want the siren/alarm to be able to be heard from the next door neighbors houses….I figure, if the alarm isnt very loud, what good does it do? Im hoping that if (God forbid) anyone ever tried to break in, the alarm would scare them away if they know everyone can hear it and cops may very well be on their way….

I have a 4yr old son and I want to do anything I can to assure a sense of safety in our house.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Does anybody know of a system that I should purchase?

I’m thinking of installing an alarm system in my house. Im not looking for a central station alarm or something that I have to pay monthly for (like ADT). I just want something that will make noise. I’ve seen alarms like this at home depot, lowes etc. I was wondering if anyone had experience with any brands.

Well we had a mouse somewhere in the house. One day I noticed that zone 6 was open. The windows were all closed (yes, I know all the zones on my security system). I tried replacing the window contact that I thought was broken, nothing happened. Remembering the mouse I am assuming that he chewed it off [there are other windows for this zone and another contact may be broken, but let's stay with the mouse chewing)]. The problem is the wire is located in between the ceiling between the first and second floor. I know it can be fixed but who would I call, ADT or an Electrician? What would be the process?
I do not want to bypass the wire an use wireless since I have multiple windows on that zone.

This is my first dog. Her name is Roxy. She is about 40lbs and 7 years old. All her brothers and sisters had short black hair. Her’s is long black and white. Her mother was about 35lbs and was a golden color. I dont know what her dad was.

This is my newest pup Eli. I was told he came from a breeder and is a pure bred border collie but im worried about the amount of white he has. His personality is just like a border collie though and ive seen a few BCs with alot of white but not this much. He’s 8 months old and about 35lbs.

And last is Dakota. She is a rescue who they said was a dachshund/pomeraninian mix but i think she looks more like a papillon/beagle or doxie/pom mix. Shes about 2 yrs old and 12lbs. She’s super sweet but is like a protective alarm who will bark when she hears an intruder.

I know roxy is a mix and dakota. My trainers and vet all say Eli is a purebred.
Both trainers work with border collie’s and i asked a breeder about Eli and she said he seems like a border collie just not of high standerd because of his color. i kinda think he came from a backyard breeder. Although his color isnt right, he excels in agility

something that can be wireless and equiped with an alarm. it must be setable for warning height. this is to help protect people while they sleep.
Yes I am famillar with those but I need one for my stream, that will warn me by alarming in my home.
