half of my town lost power for about 50 minutes. luckily mine came back after around 90 seconds. this is what it sounds like when every intruder alarm within a 2 mile radius is activated at the same time.

Lately someone has been jumping our fence and trying to break in our shed. We worry they might try to break in our house next. we’ve been weighting our options, but we’re at a stand still. We love animals and have been wanting a dog for a long time. But we just worry we don’t have the time to spend with a dog. And we don’t feel right just using one for security. Alarm systems i hear aren’t that great because there’s time for an intruder to disarm it among other reasons. last we have been looking at security cameras and they have the new options to watch your cameras anywhere anytime from a smart device or computer. What is the best option? Really just confused at this point. any suggestions or better ideas? Or what option out of the three would be the best one?

Testing the Intruder alarm at the B&B

A family friend of mine wants to get some home protection in case of an intruder. He already has an alarm system, etc. He doesn’t want a gun to protect him and his family since he has 6 children, the house is kind of small, and he is just worried that one of the little ones will find his hand gun so he wants to get something that is non-lethal.

He thought of a taser but he didn’t want to always have to charge it, he wants something that is always ready to go. I’ve heard of bean bag shotguns, but I don’t know about how to get them and if they are legal. Apparently our state (MO) has a "castle law" which means you are legally allowed to shoot and kill anyone that breaks into your home, but he still doesn’t want a hand gun simply because his kids get into everything around the house.

My question is: what other non-lethal alternatives are there to a handgun that are available to the public?

My mums friend was just broken into last night and her dog ” Cat ” was in shock and didn’t bark and do anything to alarm the intruder. She wants to get one more dog thats a bit more fierce than the other one. That will alarm the burglar and might influence the other dog.

Any ideas? She was thinking about a Australian cattle dog
